How TWAS Supports Its Partners

At TWAS, we create beautiful collections that draw attention to important causes. Our high-quality products are designed to be worn with pride, serving as a symbol of participation in meaningful charitable efforts. Here’s how we make an impact:

- Awareness: Through our collections, we raise awareness for our partners' causes, helping to shine a spotlight on crucial issues.

- Fundraising: We donate between 18% and 25% of the profits from our collections directly to our partners, with no hidden costs, ensuring transparent and effective support.

- Quality Products: Our customers receive high-quality, stylish products that they can wear with pride, knowing they are contributing to a good cause.

Through these initiatives, TWAS not only generates donations but also promotes awareness and provides our customers with durable and beloved products. We are proud to support John McGurk and the Osnabrück Zoo, amplifying their efforts to make a positive difference in the world.

We are Delighted to Introduce Our Charity Partner: John McGurk

John McGurk

John Alexander McGurk, born on February 21, 1961, in Glasgow, Scotland, has been a fervent advocate for children's rights since a transformative event in 1989. His relentless efforts in Germany and internationally have raised nearly €2 million for children in need, primarily through charity sports events and other initiatives. John's work fosters connections between nations and cultures, highlighting the universal need for compassion and support.

John's dedication has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande in Germany (2013). His motivation comes from his own challenging upbringing as one of ten children, experiencing severe poverty, hunger, and abuse. Despite these hardships, John has committed his life to helping others. Importantly, 100% of the donations collected by John McGurk go directly to the nominated charities, with no administrative deductions, ensuring maximum impact for those in need.

- Aquarium and Terrarium: These areas showcase a diverse range of aquatic and reptilian life.

- Children’s Play Areas: The zoo offers three large playgrounds – Makatanda, the Giraffe Playground, and NOZ Kinderland – providing educational and fun experiences for children.

- Conservation Efforts: The zoo is actively involved in species conservation programs, such as the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) for drills, housing the largest breeding group in Europe.

- Educational Initiatives:The zoo aims to educate visitors about biodiversity and conservation, ensuring these values are passed on to future generations.

History and Evolution:

Since its inception, the Osnabrück Zoo has evolved from a small local animal collection to a comprehensive wildlife park. It has overcome various challenges, including post-World War II reconstruction and modernizing its facilities for more natural animal habitats. Recent developments include the expansion of the Takamanda area, the Klima-Ausstellung Klimatopia interactive climate exhibition, and the new water worlds area opened in 2022.
